New Year's Eve Countdown in the city centre

Meet at Celebration Central in the city to farewell 2018 and welcome in the New Year with a fantastic lineup of live bands.

Kicking off at 8 pm, popular Nelson bands Immigrants and Zorn will lead and tease out the vibe of good feeling before headline act Blue River Baby – a powerhouse six-piece originals band from Wellington – takes the stage with an energetic explosion of soul, psychedelic rock, R&B, funk and ska.

This is a family-friendly event, with fireworks after the countdown.

Higgins Heritage Park Steam Museum & Craft Fair

Higgins Heritage Park is in fact a "family" of museums and is the home to a large variety of exhibits ranging from hand tools to New Zealand's largest portable steam engine with many other rarities to view as you wander around the Park.
ALSO this year our event will include a Park Craft Fair, with Local Entertainers, Scrumptious food carts, Devonshire Teas at the Big Tree Café and a fantastic array of local and regional craft sites.
Our theme for the day is "Polka Dots" so join us for A FUN FILLED DAY FOR ALL THE FAMILY.

Riwaka Market Day

Get in FREE to this yearly fundraising event organised by members of the Motueka Pottery Workshop.

The Riwaka Market Day is held every January the second at the picturesque Riwaka Domain on the corner of School Road and Highway 60.

At this friendly market for locals and visitors alike, children enjoy clay play and the pottery group's famous "lucky dip" where prizes are all handmade pottery items.

Many people come every year for the pottery bargains at the "Club Stall" - come & see what your favourite potter has made this year - at great discount prices!

Every year, the market attracts many interesting artistic and craft stalls.

It's become a Riwaka Market Day tradition to munch on boysenberries and cream. Also provided by the potters are yummy scones with cream and boysenberry jam.

Choose from a delicious variety of food, coffee, and seasonal produce at this ideal picnic spot on the way to Tasman's scenic attractions..

A wonderful day out for all the family!
